Third place at Galería Abierta

Now in its 10th year, Galería Abierta—organized by the Centro Cultural Municipal at the historic Edificio de Correos y Telégrafos—remains one of the very few national open calls serving as a dedicated platform for visual artists in Guatemala. Over the past decade, the initiative has broadened participation across the contemporary art ecosystem, bringing together practices that range from traditional mediums to experimental, material-led processes.

For this milestone edition, proposals were evaluated by an independent jury comprising Rosina Cazali, José Wolf, and Alejandro Ortiz. My work Harvesting Future Horizons was recognized with 3rd place, offering meaningful validation for my ongoing research into material agency, circular biomaterials, and spatial tension within the public realm.
